陶瓷烧制中的还原气氛是指烧制过程中,控制窑炉内部一氧化碳和氢气所占比例较高,游离氧比例较少的一个特殊阶段。传统还原焰的烧制一般需要使用气窑完成。然而气窑的操作学习成本高,并且需持有相应操作执照的专业人员才能安全合法地使用。


The reducing atmosphere in ceramic firing refers to the control of incomplete combustion flames inside the kiln during the firing process. At this time, more carbon monoxide and hydrogen are issued in the kiln, and there is very little free oxygen. Generally, the firing of traditional reducing flame requires the use of a gas kiln. However, the operation and learning cost of the gas kiln is high, and only the certificated technician can use it legally.


相比于景德镇传统的气窑烧制,电窑有着智能的操作方式、安全的使用环境以及相对便宜的烧制成本。近些年来,在电窑内使用匣钵盛放作品进行模拟还原烧制,在陶艺圈内掀起了一股新的“风尚”。在匣钵内部准备可燃物质,并搭建出相对密闭的空间,在烧制过程中可燃物不充分燃烧,产生还原气氛,并在内部作品表面留下还原焰的痕迹。


Compared with the traditional gas kiln firing in Jingdezhen, the electric kiln has intelligent operation modes, a safe utilizing environment, and cheap firing spend, relatively. In recent years, the use of saggers for firing works in electric kilns has set off a wave in ceramics. Prepare combustible materials inside the sagger, and build a closed space. During the firing, the combustible in the sagger has not burned completely, and that to form a reducing atmosphere, leaving traces of reduced flames on the surface of the works.


陶溪川·景德镇国际工作室线上讲座本期邀请到泰国陶艺家、朱拉隆功大学工业设计学院副教授,Pim Sudhikam. 于2021年4月28日晚上8点,在陶溪川国际教育—国际云讲座平台带来主题为《岩·山·石——终而复“石”》(Making Breccia)的讲座。
Taoxichuan·Jingdezhen International Studio is very pleased to invite the Thai Ceramic Artist, Assistant Professor at Chulalongkorn University, Pim Sudhikam. The title of this week's lecture is " Making Breccia ". The lecture will be held on Wednesday, April 28, at Taoxichuan International Education Program —— Master Online Lecture.


讲座中,Pim 将介绍她运用电窑搭配匣钵进行烧制的技法,以及产出这种方式的创作概念和想法。她还会分享在创作中如何通过观察周边的世界,将元素介入创作中,不完全设限的去探索新的可能性。
In the lecture, Pim will introduce her techniques of using the electric kiln with saggers for firing, as well as the creative concepts and ideas that produced this method. She will also share how she observes the surroundings and intervenes elements in her creation, not completely setting limits to explore new possibilities.

泰国陶艺家;朱拉隆功大学工业设计学院副教授;联合国教科文组织陶艺委员学会(IAC)会员
“找寻自然的特性和再创造之间的平衡非常重要。”
Pim Sudhikam 如是说。她是常驻泰国的陶艺家,也是朱拉隆功大学工业设计学院的副教授。曾经以优异的成绩在朱拉隆功大学完成工业设计学士学位,并考取瑞典哥德堡大学,获得艺术硕士学位,师从瑞典著名陶艺家Torbirn Kvasb教授。
"In my work I try to find a good balance between what is made and what is found."
Pim Sudhikam said. She is a ceramist based in Thailand and an associate professor in the School of Industrial Design at Chulalongkorn University. She once completed a bachelor's degree in industrial design at Chulalongkorn University with honors, and obtained a master's degree in fine arts from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, under the tutelage of the famous Norwegian ceramic artist Torbjørn Kvasbø.
作为联合国教科文组织陶艺委员学会(IAC)的 Pim,也是泰国陶艺协会的董事会成员。她曾获文化部颁发的“艺术和手工艺优秀奖”,泰国国家研究委员会颁发的“国家发明奖”,以及第39届意大利 Gualdo Tadino 陶瓷大赛的荣誉奖等。
Pim, as a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC), is also a board member of the Thai Ceramics Association. She has received “Awards of Excellence in Arts and Crafts” from the Ministry of Culture, “National Invention Award” from the National Research Council of Thailand, an Honourable Mention from the 39th Ceramic Competition Gualdo Tadino, Italy, and so on.

粘土一直是Pim 创作中会使用到的材料,她也坚持钻研材料的特性和相关的工艺。在创作生涯中,她的作品形式非常多面,小到身边的日用器皿,大到雕塑和户外的大型装置作品。“无论作品的体量、形式,我都试图将身边自然中的质感用我个人的创作方式来描述,并且在借用自然元素时,保留它们原有的温度。“ Pim说道。
Pim has been working with clay as her main medium, investigating characteristics and technologies of materials. During her creative career, her works are very diverse, ranging from daily utensils to large-scale outdoor installations and sculptures. Regardless of the size and form of the work, I try to describe the texture of nature in my own way of creation, and retain their original temperature when borrowing natural elements, Pim said.

扭线切割、徒手撕裂的肌理

不受刻板形式的约束,Pim 在创作中尽可能表现粘土自然的肌理与状态,通过切割、撕扯等方式塑造作品的造型与表面的纹样。粘土的特性能将岩石的历史感和地理风貌展现出来。创作过程也是粘土自身经验转化的历程。有时是粘土,有时是岩石,都不过是漫长转化过程中短暂的形态。
Unconstrained by stereotypes, Pim expresses the natural texture and state of clay as much as possible in her works, and shaping the form and surface patterns of the work by cutting, tearing, etc. The characteristics of clay reveal the historical and geographical features of the rock. The creating is also the transformation of clay's own experience. Sometimes it's clay, sometimes it's rock, it's just short-lived forms during the long long life journey.

自然界中,岩石风化演变的过程会持续数百万年,而粘土正是岩石矿物沉积与风化的产物。Pim 以粘土之柔拟大地山石之坚,将岩石的生命历程书写在了陶瓷里。
In nature, the process of rock weathering will last millions of years, and clay is the product of rock mineral deposition and weathering. Pim uses the softness of clay to imitate the solidity of the earth and mountains and writes down the life course of the rock in ceramics.

这系列作品的创作中,Pim 使用的就是电窑还原烧成的技法。她在作品表面施加透明釉和含有霞长石和碳酸镁的釉料,用贝壳作为支撑放入匣钵中,作品的周围填满木炭或者其他可燃性材料。
In the creation of this series of works, Pim used the electric kiln to do reduction firing. She applied transparent glaze and glaze containing nepheline and magnesium carbonate on the surface of the work, and then, put the work in a sagger with shells as supports. The surroundings of the work were filled with charcoal or other combustible materials.
通过釉料叠加的上釉方式,来制作作品表面起泡的效果,装坯时加入其他可燃性材料,通过木炭燃烧产生碳元素,在相对密闭的匣钵内形成强烈的还原气氛。熔化的釉料在不同的表面纹理上有着不同的流动趋势和表面张力。
Pim uses the method of superimposing the glaze to create the blistering effect on the surface of the work. On the other hand, combustible materials are added when the kiln is loaded, so the carbon elements are generated by burning charcoal, which creates a strongly reducing atmosphere in a closed sagger. Finally, the molten glaze has different flow trends and surface tensions on different surfaces of textures.

烧制后保留贝壳的纹理,木炭化为灰烬,部分熔融成釉色覆盖在作品表面。烧制完成后对作为支撑部分的贝壳进行打磨,保留贝壳纹样的质感。
After firing, the texture of the shell remains on the work, and the charcoal is turned into ashes and the color melted into the glaze. Take out the work and polish the supporting shell, only preserve the texture of shells.

营造出柔软与坚硬之间相辅相成的风格对比,体现出自然现象中的壮美,像是地壳运动的或者山川河流的变迁,又或者是海岸线上拍打的浪花(起伏的釉面)或是幽深的洞穴(裂口),她总是时刻试图捕捉这些自然力的瞬间。
Create contrast between softness and hardness, reflecting the magnificence of natural phenomena, such as crustal movement or changes in mountains and rivers, or waves splashing on the coastline (undulating glazed surface) or deep caves (cracks), she always tries to capture these natural moments.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
